Carboxytherapy is an FDA approved treatment

Carboxytherapy is an injection treatment that through a very fine small needle injects carbon dioxide gas under the skin. You may find this treatment unusual however, it has been proven to stimulate increased blood flow to the area of injection promoting collagen formation and improved tissue fluid drainage, therefore it can help with the following conditions:

  1. Dark circles under the eyes
  2. Eyebags with fat reduction in fat pads
  3. Stretch Marks
  4. Scars
  5. Acne Scars
  6. Cellulite and localised pockets of fat
  7. Hair Loss and Pattern Baldness
  8. Saggy Skin
  9. Double Chin (extra fat)

Carboxytherapy originated in French Spas in 1930’s.

The treatment can be applied to eyes, neck, arms, buttocks, stomach and legs.

It can also be used to stimulate hair in certain conditions and baldness patterns.

It uses a fusion of Carbon Dioxide (Co2), a naturally occurring gas in the body.

People who undergo this treatment find an improvement in circulation, skin elasticity, fine lines and wrinkles; due to the vascular micro stimulation of blood to the area, now rich with oxygen.

It aids collagen repair and the destruction of fatty tissue.

Cells in the body release Carbon Dioxide as waste; red blood cells take the oxygen you inhale and carry it to the tissues, then pick up the carbon dioxide. By injecting the area with Co2 a clinician can stimulate and increase the circulation to that location.

  • Stretch marks: The stretch marks you see on your body are a rupture of dermal collagen. Poor blood circulation is partially responsible for cellulite and stretch marks. Carboxytherapy creates new collagen, which thickens the skin and improves its appearance. When carboxytherapy is used to treat stretch marks and scars, it’s relatively painless. This is because scar tissue doesn’t have nerves. You may feel an itching sensation as the stretch marks are distended during the procedure. The itchiness should resolve in about five minutes.
  • Cellulite: Carbon dioxide gas can also be injected into fat cells, which causes the cells to burst and be eliminated in the body. Cellulite is caused when subcutaneous fat protrudes through the skin. Several studies have foundTrusted Source that carboxytherapy is both safe effective when used to treat cellulite.
  • For fat and cellulite reduction, the procedure is often preferred over more invasive and high risk methods, such as liposuction.
  • Under-eye circles: Dark circles under the eyes are usually caused by poor circulation, which creates vascular pooling. Injecting the gas under the eyelid increases circulation to the eye.  This now oxygen rich blood aids brightening of the skin; reducing the blueish tinge that can make you look tired. Due to the elimination of fat it can also help to make the eyes look less puffy, with fat loss in any eye bag tissue. The skin will be brighter, lighter and firmer to touch.
  • Double Chin: Add in a RF and HIFU treatment to a 'double chin' and we now have a non surgical approach to reducing chin size and volume.
  • Alopecia: Alopecia (hair loss) caused by poor circulation can be treated with carboxytherapy.

Carboxytherapy is a safe procedure with almost no side effects. People may have bruising at the injection site, specifically in the arms and legs. This bruising should clear up within a week. People who get the procedure for fat reduction or cellulite also shouldn’t immerse themselves in water for 24 hours, including swimming or using a bathtub.

When starting on carboxytherapy, repeat treatments are usually required, and you’ll notice improvements after each session – until you reach your desired result.

What our clients say...

"I have had my first session of laser and I can't believe the difference 24 hours has made. The amount my spots have reduced is incredible. Wish I thought of doing some laser sooner. Pauline made it so much better as she was so detailed in what the treatment was going to be like. Highly recommend to anyone with bad skin to come to get it. Amazing."
