This is an exciting new treatment that could help sculpt your body shape through innovative technology. Losing weight and fat reduction are two very different things. Losing weight doesn't always lead to a more sculpted appearance, but fat reduction can shape your body the way you want it.
It uses a controlled cooling to help eliminate stubborn fat, particularly for difficult to shift areas; loose tissue under the chin; neck; upper arms ('bingo wings'); 'love handles'; upper thighs and abdomen.
How does it work?
Fat removal procedures are mostly used in cosmetic surgery to remove unwanted adipose tissue (fat). The optimum temperature for fat cell death is actually just above freezing. The threshold for damage to your skin and other tissues is much lower than the machine will ever reach, ensuring skin safety. Fat is more temperature sensitive than your skin, fat goes through the cell death process before your skin does.
We use a device to extract heat from your fat tissues by applying cold, but not freezing, temperatures to your skin. The temperature of your skin is continuously monitored for safety. Fat cells are never frozen, but rather chilled to the point of triggering fat cell death. Once the fat cells have been destroyed, they gradually break down and are removed by the liver.
Who is it suitable for?
Above all, it is suitable for anyone who is looking for mild improvements, it is not a tool or designed for a 'one-stop shop' major fat removal like liposuction.
At consultation we discuss and assess clients medical circumstances, age, skin quality and ensure understanding of treatment; asking questions like, 'Will the skin rebound after treatment?', 'Will it look good after volume is removed?' and how thick or 'pinchable' their tissue is before approving them for treatment... if someone has thick, firm tissue which is not accessible with the machine, treatment will not give the 'WOW' factor.
What are the results?
It often takes a few treatments to get the optimum results, normally 5. A single treatment will yield minimum change, however the more treatments you have, the better and more visible the results. Eventually there can be up to a 25% reduction in fat in a particular area.
Will it make you lose weight?
No device sheds pounds....muscle weighs more than fat and when you are shedding potentially up to 25% of fat in a handful of tissue, it won't add up to very much on the scales, but, when you lose what is 'spilling over' trouser tops or a bra, for example, it counts! Cryo sculpts and gives better proportions at your current weight and you may leave the clinic having dropped one or two sizes in clothing.
Is it Permanent?
Yes, it is a permanent fat reduction but only if you control your weight. If you gain weight, it will go somewhere else. Lasting improvements to your body can also occur by changing your behaviour through nutrition and exercise. A little bit of this is on you as the patient...if you're going to do 14 cycles of treatment and not change your diet and eating habits at all, your body will not change.
When you should start treatment?
Schedule sessions around 3 months before an 'event', weddings or holidays. Results are visible early but to get the maximum effects it takes around 8 weeks. By 12 weeks the skin is tighter and firmer and looks prettier.
Is it safe?
This is a non invasive procedure, the risks, comparatively speaking, are very low. Contour irregularities can occur the same way as liposuction can. There is less room for human error in terms of fat removal, it also has limitations in terms of fine tuning removal, the same way an artful surgeon might by hand. A potential complication lies with your numbed nerves feeling as though they have fallen asleep....it's short term.Wounds will not occur, and swelling is minimal. Our resident surgeon is on hand for information, advice and management. You're in exceptionally safe hands. The best.
